Course Description
The ScrumMaster is the person responsible for
helping the team following the company’s defined
Agile process. It is similar to a Project Manager
role but this person may or may not be the perceived
"leader/coach" in a given Sprint. The ScrumMaster is
the team member responsible to resolve obstacles
which involve the organization outside the Sprint,
in order to protect the Sprint team from outside
distractions. The ScrumMaster enables the team by
removing/resolving blockages that impede their work
toward the Sprint’s goal.
This course teaches the participant how to apply
Agile techniques to lead, not manage teams.
Participants will learn how to work with product
owners to create product backlogs and plan sprints,
work with the team to break down backlog items into
prioritized, individualized functional tasks. In
addition, participants will learn the right methods,
logistics and metrics needed to execute and track
the sprint and bring it to a successful customer
demo. Finally, the participant will learn how to use
these skills within a large-scale, distributed
environment. The course includes instructor
experiences, case studies, and several in-class labs
will enable participants to build knowledge and
skills through active participation instead of
lecture .
